Bold Planning Awarded Contract for Arkansas Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans

Bold Planning Solutions was recently awarded contracts for the development of five Natural Hazard Mitigation Plans in Arkansas. This summer, White, Desha, Cleveland, Ashley, and Arkansas County successfully completed their mitigation planning requirements and received approval by the State of Arkansas for their DMA2000 compliant plans. Bold wishes to congratulate the planning team members for all their hard work and a job well done!



Under the requirements of the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 (DMA2000) all States, Tribes, Territories, local communities and universities must have a DMA2000 compliant plan approved by FEMA prior to being eligible for Mitigation Funding. The purpose of mitigation planning is for communities to identify the hazards that affect them, document a past history of events caused by these disasters, estimate the cost and damage expected by future disasters, and suggest projects that would reduce the effects of these disasters.
